Luminox

Luminox was founded by Richard Timbo and Barry Cohen. The Luminox Dive Watches were made shortly after the company began marketing Luminox Watches. Luminox which was called RBMG at inception started to market Luminox Watches using the famous Luminox logo. The name Luminox came from “Light Night” in Latin which was chosen due to the illumination provided the watch. Luminox put the theme of illumination within their logo in a very specific fashion.

Initially, the sale of Luminox Watches was rather slow. Luminox Watches were unknown as the brand Luminox did not have much market presence. Luminox Watches became a lot more popular after the U.S. Navy Seals asked Luminox to build a version of the Luminox Dive Watches for the Navy. This lead to Luminox Watches becoming an official Watch used by the Navy Seals. The Luminox Dive Watches for the Navy Seal was launched in 1994. Luminox Watches enjoyed an enhanced credibility from the relationship with the Navy Seals, which lead to higher sales of Luminox Watches.

Luminox Dive Watches

Luminox Dive Watches originally sold to the Navy Seal in a plastic version. Eventually Luminox started making the Luminox Dive Watches in a Steel version. A titanium series of the Luminox Dive Watches was added to the previous versions in 2000. Luminox Dive Watches had become an industry standard mostly because of the Navy exposure and the first request made by the Navy in 1993. Luminox Dive Watches are impressive in design and have special production requirements, which make them suitable for the Navy.
